I have long dreamed about having a tiny home. As a kid I was fascinated with RVs, and as I got older, tour busses. The last ten years, I’ve probably spent thousands of hours fantasizing about how I would design a tour bus or a tiny house.
Being a musician, it’s not easy to convince a bank to give you a mortgage, and I’ve always had problems with authority figures anyway ;) The idea of spending so much on interest disturbs me deeply, and the idea of building something just for us stirs a longing inside me.
I’ve spent most of my adult life on the road. I once went for 4 years without having a fixed address. Over the years I’ve worked out a little system to keep myself at my best, and while priorities change, there are a few things that are constants on the road for facilitating a healthy life while in constant transit. I’d love to hear from you all – those who travel for work and for pleasure, to find out what you consider essential!
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Documentary Buff. I am obsessed. I can barely watch (or read) fiction because I am so fascinated by what actually exists in this world. It drives my husband nuts. He wants to relax after a long day of work and watch a show or movie at night and I almost always want to learn something. Fortunately for me, he falls asleep within 20 mins so I just switch over to what I like and smile at his adorable snores ;)
I feel that in the past decade, the Documentaries genre has grown exponentially. There are amazing people out there sharing great stories, educating us and enriching our existence. In the last 2 years I have been blown away and deeply changed by what I have learned. Here’s my top 12 list (in no particular order)!

As it stands now, we have raised about half of the cost of the fiddle which is AWESOME because Barry Dudley has agreed to do a partial trade with me for a painting that I will make for him. So you guys are my heroes!!!!!!!!! I have wanted and needed this instrument for years and you guys made it a reality in less than A DAY. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys. Today is a day off. I’m in Nashville at a hotel near the airport. I went grocery shopping for the bus (lots of organic fruits and veggies, nuts, almond milk, crackers, tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa…also baby wipes, Dr. Bronner’s Lavender soap and Mrs. Meyers Lavender Room Spray. mmmm).
I also started a crowdfunding page so that I can get a second fiddle. I had an incident the other day when we were playing with Old Crow – Read More →
